[Only topic] 404 error

First topic message reminder :

When I tried to log on to my forum or it's portal page today all I got was "404 not found"

I have even tried to find my forum using previous entries but they all go to the same message.

Has my forum been closed down by Forumotion for some reason ?

I tested it and it works for me as well. Others might have receive different results, but it's worth a try!

The forum http://narutobeginnings.forumsmotions.com/ is also facing this problem, i am a current administrator there. Hope this is fixed soon...

I just noticed that hitskins is having the similar issue.  Some themes are not appearing, but the 404 error message is:  http://en.hitskin.com/search-a-skin .

Now to my point lol...

It seems for myself at least this problem ONLY happens while i am using Google Chrome, where as if i were to use Internet Explorer i can access all the sites above. It seems that is is a possible issue either certain clients of GC giving or just us so to speak as for the hitskins issue, i think that is a image hosting issue because you can still preview the skin you want to look at just not able to see the thumbnail. 

Short story try using a browser you normally don't use.

Yeah I just tried on IE as well, and my site works on that browser as opposed to Chrome. Not sure why though, which would be very nice to know especially if it can be replicated for Chrome.

Okay so, here is what you need to go through to make it work on Chrome, and im assuming any other browser that you are having the issue with, just make sure you run CMD.exe in administrator mode or else it wont work. 

I actually just ran through it myself and right now everything is okay now. so give it a try just dont deviate from the instructions. XD else you could mess things up

Okay, I'm starting to get this on my forum.  I have never had this problem with Forumotion before. 

I use Mozilla Firefox and it's never given me problems before.  I just cleared my cache and it makes things work for a couple seconds but then I'm back to getting the 404 error again.

Well thank goodness it is not only me.  I am getting that err also.

When I am logged in my site and try to post I get kicked out.

Okay so just wanted to update everyone, the "fix" that new moon posted sadly is only a temp fix. It will work for a time being, but in my case it only lasted about 2 or 3 hours before reverting to the 404 error again.

Also, i just noticed that there is a similar point everyone seems to have, it is that they are logged in and getting the 404 error. So it is possible that the issue is due to being logged in, and since "clearing" the cache wont work unless you do the DNS flush, it doesnt help. this is truly odd lol. Also it could be that the whole issue itself is a sever or database issue, one or two broken lines can well cause the issue, im leaning more to the DB being the issue due to only select people are having this issue, where as on the forum i am administrating on so far i am the only noted person who has this issue. although im not sure on that just yet need to hear from the others if they get on.

Same for me too, I can see my forum using Chrome on my phone but I'm getting the 404 error in both Chrome and Internet Explorer on my pc. It was fine yesterday but started this morning. I hoped it can be fixed, and soon.

I restarted the pc and now I can get on my forum, but it seems it could go again at any time. Hopefully it won't be too long till it's sorted.

well good news I'm able to access my forum again. Not sure if it means it's out of the woods so will keep an eye on it and make sure to bring it up if anything similar happens again.

There is still an issue on Hitskins showing this error.  When you press the search button, there are three themes missing with this message.  There are more than three themes missing.

Our technicians are aware some skins are missing on Hitskins. They'll try to re-upload them. Could you please tell me: it only misses some themes but there is no 404 errors on Hitskin website?

My forum used to say 404 - Not found when I typed in the website "URL".forumotion.com.
Until I typed the website "URL".forumotion.com/forum.

To stop this you just go to Administration Panel > Display > Homepage > Generalities and make sure it redirects to your forum index.

Then go to Administration Panel > General > Forum > Forum Address and verify that it is the same link lol
